Chiumento CARES Fund: How to Donate
Introduction to Chiumento CARES Fund: The Chiumento CARES (Community Assistance and Relief for Ending Student Homelessness) Fund was established with a commitment to address a pressing issue within our community – student homelessness. In partnership with the Flagler County Education Foundation, our aim is to bridge the gap between the federal funds allocated to the Flagler County School District and the comprehensive support that is required to assist families in transition. As it stands, the district receives $140,000, which is intended to cover the needs of over 263 students and support one person’s salary to manage the Families in Transition (FIT) program. This funding, while essential, falls short of providing families with the full spectrum of assistance required to lift them out of homelessness.
Our Mission: Our fundraising initiative is centered on raising the necessary funds to provide relief to families in Flagler County who are grappling with homelessness, inadequate shelter, food scarcity, and other essential needs that are not currently covered by federal funding allocations. We understand that the issue of student homelessness is a complex one, and it is our long-term goal to continue raising funds and ultimately create a sustainable solution. Our vision is to establish a compound or sheltering option that will offer families a safe and stable place to call home, ensuring they have a roof over their heads.
The Long-term Impact: We recognize that our initiative is not a short-term fix but a commitment to a better future for the families of Flagler County. By initiating this fundraising effort, we are laying the foundation for lasting change in our community. We are determined to make a significant impact, one that will extend far beyond the 50-year mark of our business.
How Funds Will Be Managed: The funds raised through our 50 Years in Business Celebration, will be entrusted to the Flagler County Education Foundation, which will oversee the Chiumento CARES Fund. By collaborating with the Education Foundation, we ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible allocation of resources to benefit the Flagler County Families in Transition program. This partnership will help us maximize the effectiveness of our fundraising efforts, ensuring that every dollar contributes to the betterment of our community.
We are excited about the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of families in Flagler County who are experiencing homelessness. We believe that with the support of grant funding, we can build a brighter future for these families and provide them with the stability and hope they deserve.
