A Year of Growth, Giving, and Gratitude: The Role of Community in Our Practice

Chiumento Law - Community Matters

“The law is what we practice — but community is who we are.”

As we close out another year, I find myself reflecting not just on the cases we’ve handled or the milestones we’ve achieved, but on the people and partnerships that continue to shape Chiumento Law’s story. Since 1973, our firm has proudly served Palm Coast and the greater Flagler community — and while our practice has grown, our purpose has remained the same: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

At Chiumento Law, giving back isn’t something we do on occasion; it’s part of our foundation. Our attorneys and staff dedicate countless hours to supporting causes that strengthen our community — from local youth programs to healthcare initiatives, education, and the arts. You’ll often see our team lacing up for AdventHealth 5Ks, playing in golf tournaments to raise funds for hospice or breast cancer awareness, or volunteering with the Flagler County Education Foundation to help local students thrive.

We proudly support the 9/11 Memorial Tribute Climb, honoring our first responders and raising scholarship funds for future heroes, as well as organizations such as SMART Animal Rescue, local theaters, and youth sports and performance programs that help shape the next generation of leaders. Whether it’s a sponsorship, a donation, or simply showing up to lend a hand, our firm believes that investing in people is the most powerful way to build a stronger community.

Behind the scenes, one of my most personal and passionate efforts this year has been focused on finding a space in Flagler County to propose a safe, supportive compound for homeless families — a place where they can regain stability and independence. Through our initiative, Chiumento CARES, we’ve been meeting with partners like Family Renew Community in Holly Hill to explore how we can bring this vision to life locally. It’s a long-term dream that represents what I believe our profession is truly about: using our skills and resources to create sustainable solutions for those who need a hand up.

As I look ahead, I’m deeply grateful for the people who make these efforts possible — our clients, our community partners, and, most of all, our dedicated team. Their compassion and commitment extend far beyond the office, reminding me daily that the strength of our firm lies in the hearts of those who represent it.

At Chiumento Law, longevity isn’t just a number — it’s a testament to loyalty, trust, and shared purpose. Team members like Karolyn (35 years), Kelly (31 years), Michele (23 years), and Caroline (13 years) exemplify the dedication that defines our culture. Their experience and heart form the backbone of who we are and why we continue to thrive after more than five decades in practice.

In a world that often feels divided, I’m proud to say that Chiumento Law continues to stand for connection, compassion, and community. We’re honored to serve Flagler County not only through the practice of law but through the practice of giving. Here’s to another year of growth, gratitude, and making a difference — together.
