Diane A. Vidal

Education
Mrs. Vidal graduated with honors from Rutgers University earning a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice and a minor in psychology. Mrs. Vidal graduated cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law. She was an associate editor of the Seton Hall Legislative Bureau Journal during law school where she wrote and edited publications regarding legislative reform.
Personal History
Recipient of a Juris Doctor in 2007, Mrs. Vidal is triple barred, licensed to practice law in three states: New Jersey, New York and Florida. In 2007, Mrs. Vidal was admitted to the Bar in New Jersey and the New Jersey’s Appellate Division while also being admitted to practice law in New York State Courts. In May of 2018, Mrs. Vidal was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida.
Diane A. Vidal is a partner and shareholder with Chiumento Law where she leads the Estate Planning and Probate Department for the law firm. Recipient of the New Jersey Super Lawyer, Rising Star award by Thomson Reuters for 10 years in a row, she is well recognized and respected by her colleagues.
Diane currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the Professional Women of Flagler County and during her tenure as President of the Professional Women of Flagler County in 2023, she led the organization to historically raising over $30,000 for women in business and scholarships for Flagler County students. She continues to serve as a mentor to students through the Flagler County Education Foundation, Take Stock in Children program.
The current sitting 2025 Secretary, she previously served as the 2023 President of the Flagler County Bar Association. Dedicated to the practice of law, she was also selected to serve on the 2024 Florida Bar Pro Bono Award Nomination Committee for the 7th Circuit of Florida.
Winner of the 2022 Women in Business Civil Leader Award by the Daytona Beach News Journal, she is dedicated to our community. In 2022, Diane was named as one of the Women of the Month for the Portuguese American Leadership Council of the United States (PALCUS). Diane also serves on the Bylaw Committee for the Portuguese Culture Club of Palm Coast, Florida.
In 2024, she was appointed Director for the Tiger Bay Club and is a recognized leader across our community. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and is a member of the Portuguese Culture Club of Palm Coast, Florida.
Areas of Practice
Probate, Guardianship and Trust Administration
Mrs. Vidal concentrates her practice in the areas of probate and trust administration, advising clients about the legal process to transfer a decedent’s probate or trust assets to the estate beneficiaries or heirs and counsels trustees with carrying out their duties in accordance with the terms of the applicable trust. Ms. Vidal also specializes in guardianships law, assisting clients with establishing and managing legal guardianships to protect the rights and well-being of individuals who are unable to care for themselves.
Estate Planning
Diane A. Vidal focuses her practice on estate planning. She collaborates with clients to fully evaluate their finances and family dynamic to formulate the best estate plan for each client’s unique needs. Counseling clients about the importance of having a Will, Health Care Surrogate, Living Will, Power of Attorney and Trust, she helps find creative ways to avoid probate.
Civil Litigation
Mrs. Vidal has represented litigants in various areas of civil litigation since the commencement of her legal career. She has excelled in representing corporations and individuals in landlord/tenant disputes, contract negotiation, family conflicts, breach of contract contentions, probate disputes, tort actions and equitable claims.
Real Estate
Mrs. Vidal holds extensive experience with representing litigants in various areas of real estate matters such as commercial and residential real estate closings, title and real property boundary disputes, negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, and real property transaction consulting.
Attorney Diane Vidal, joined Diniz Borges with The Portuguese Beyond Borders Institute and Ilidio Pereira with The Portuguese American Leadership Council of the United States. The three discussed the challenges of tilting Portuguese property in a Trust given Portugal’s ban on disinheriting heirs.
